Brief Introduction

Dr. Chen Jin is a tenure-track Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator at the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT).

Dr. Jin received Ph.D. from the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Following his doctoral studies, he moved to the United States for postdoctoral training, first at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and subsequently at Columbia University. He was later promoted to Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University. Dr. Jin established his independent laboratory at SUAT in July 2025 to decode the complex mechanisms of human aging, with a particular emphasis on the female reproductive system as a "sentinel" of aging.

Research

Dr. Jin's research is centered on elucidating the complex mechanisms of human aging, with a special focus on female reproductive senescence. His laboratory employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as single-cell and spatial multi-omics, evolutionary genomics, artificial intelligence (AI), organoid modeling, and animal models to systematically investigate the aging process. Recently, he has published research articles as a (co-) first and/or corresponding author in prestigious scientific journals, including Nature Aging (2025) and Blood (2021, 2018). His work was featured in the "Best of ASH" at the 2019 American Society of Hematology annual meeting and was named one of the "China’s Top 10 Hematological Advances in 2021".
