Brief Introduction

Dr. Qi Wan isaDistinguishedProfessorin theDepartment of Mental Health and Public Healthat Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology. He was aProfessor and Director in the Institute of Neuroregeneration and Neurorehabilitation at Qingdao University(2017-2024),the Executive Vice-Dean of Qingdao University School of Medicine (2017-2019), a Professor and Vice-Dean in the Medical School at Wuhan University (2013-2017), a tenured Associate Professor at University of Nevada at Reno (2008-2012) and a Scientist/Senior Scientist in the Toronto Western Research Institute (2000-2008). Hisresearchworkispublished in Nature, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Medicine, Stem Cells, Aging Cell, Journal of Neuroscience and Stroke. Dr. Wan is a scholar of Medical Research Council of Canada (MRC). His research has been supported by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), National Institutes of Health (NIH, USA), Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) and American Heart Association (AHA), National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Key R&D Program of China.

Research

Dr. Wan’ research is focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurological disorderssuch as ischemic stroke, and the role of endogenous neurogenesis in brain repair.
